musical weekend

so i started this shitty week out surfing instead of working which left me either working 'till 10pm or working on saturday....

decided i needed some music. went to o'tooles (best pub in honolulu) for some drinks an irish jig band named celtic waves. hot. and the flutists daughter came up so sing a few songs....dukes and i think she was like 19 but she was DAMN hot and the cutest voice.

thenlured two friends into onea' the more interesting "concerts" i've ever been to at an art gallery in chinatown. $5, what could go wrong? no bar. muthafucka's. no worries. hthere was time enough in between to go get some manapuas from a dim sum restaurant and a few shots of JD from my car (flask!). copule local ska bands doing acoustic sets (one for the first time)which was fun....guy named warren young (member of a dead band called the tantra monsters...local ska band who happens to be one of my favorite bands) comes uip and plays a metal guitar tuned to a banjo i think w/ a harmonica on his collar. um...weird...intersting......

and the final act was a guy named mike park who used to play for skankin' pickle. aMAzing guitarits, cool songs. kinda like punk gets old and meshes with...folk...but very cool. grew up in norcal and he's full korean...san a lot abou racism. good shit.

theeeen went back to o'tooles where kelly found a friend who bout the three of us (and about four others) whatever we wanted tod rink. we bailed before he realized what the bill was. good man. ate zippy's.. met up with vicky at bar 35.....

went to a blues show at anna's tonight. i'll go every week if they have it!

g'night,
jk
