so, in honor of serenity comin' out on the 30th, i went and bought the box set of firely to binge on before seeing the movie.

AND

i got my mom and tam hooked on it, too :) we've watched five episodes in two days...more tonight!

fixing

soooo cleaning shit up. life's working a little better. board's fixed. mom's car's mostly fixed (spark plug replacement finally did it...but still overheats), raimi's only weepingn ow instead of openly crying...

i got a nice big queen bed. up until now i'd been sleeping on the puny little twin i basically grew up on...now my room is pretty much all bed. i told my sis i should just get a buncha' pillows to cover the rest bits of remaining carpet so that it really can be all bed. i'm gonna have a pillow room if i ever get rich. pillow room with some sweet sounds and a big ass tv...or maybe a projector. mmm....

aaaand hurricanes jova and kenneth (nearly following each other) missed us and spun themselves down to tropical storms. got some thunder and rain, but the wind's low and it made an east swell...maybe i'll try and hit that.

rita...ridiculous. has there EVER been a hurricane season where two enter the gulf and BOTH hit major cities? it's unbelievable. at least houston seems to be evacuating early but there're already people stuck on roads and in airports. it's a lot different here in the middle of the pacific...we're like a bullsye in the pacific and hurricanes either hit or miss. in the gulf!? man...once it's in and the temps cooperate enough to sustain it, it's inevitable that it's going to hit SOMETHING. that would be scary as shit.

has hurrican season even started yet? i think katrina was actually before the official hurrican season or something...maybe that was another one. i dunno, but either way it's fucki'n EARLY in the season.

so i'm gonna go surfing.

that usually makes me feel better.

bad luck

so i think i'm having a streak of bad luck!

first, an ongoing problem, i can't fix my mom's goddamn car. it's pissing me off...both the fact that i can't fix it and there are so many fuckin' things interconnected in it that it's so hard to diagnose. it runs, but really badly once it warms up. i may have it down...trying new parts tomorrow.

and i fucked up my main board. i went right, he went left (wimpy left), we collided, and i got a skeg through my fuckin' board. the good news is the position of it pretty much ensured that he had one through his, too. fuck. almost done fixing it (after letting it dry for more than a week).

THEN i fucked up my NEW board. ended up on an ankle deep reef at night with a BIG swell comin' in. oops. smashed my FCS plug into my board and up through the deck. ugh. not too hard a fix but i need to get a new plug which, ironically, isn't all that easy.

couldn't fix my neighbor's computer. it's acting up...something definitely wrong with the computer (they thought it was just the internet) which is odd since they "fixed", erased, and reloaded their harddrive. i told 'em get a new harddrive and windows xp (they were running mellenium...piece of shit OS). i felt useless. but seriously...it was in bad shape.

MY cars is leaking coolant like a mofo. tried to fix it by replacing the bad gasket with a liquid gasket maker...was worse than with the old gasket. too bad i destroyed it removing it. new part comin'.

i dunno. what'd i do?
