aye me hearties, kill the wench.

so me and two friends (a couple) started a team for this upcoming coed tournament in november. the tourney's "the big" coed ultimate tournament we have here called Hopu Ka Lewa. not sure exactly what that means but apparently it's a horrible translation anyway so it doesn't matter.

either way, i had this novel idea of stealing players from well...all the other teams. i've only been here for like two years and i already think the teams are stagnant. same people playing witht he same teams ALL THE TIME. i got recruited onto one'a these well established teams last year and the team ended up having 21 players for a 3 day tournament. being one of the rookies on the team i didn't get a lotta playing time and was pretty bummed so i came up with this idea. which i tentatively called "pirates" due to the pillaging.

we established a pretty solid core for the first maybe...6 players...and then the roof came in and we started staling HUGE. haha, i love it. having the selling point of breaking up stagnant teams (and massages for the women) attracted a lot of people! i was psyched. and we have just about every team represented, past and present. and i don't think too many people hate us, either.

either way the pirate theme caught on real easy and it was brought to our attention that national pirate day is comin' up in september! sweetness. we're gonna party, somehow. and we all need pirate names. i used to pride myself with coming up with nicknames....but i can't come up with shit! help!

like finding a needle in pincusion

you'd think with a room the size of a shoebox it'd be pretty goddamn hard to lose something, no?

bleah...if only.
i lost my goddamn headphones. i have my little ones i use to listen to my music but my big ones i use to plug into my amp to play guitar through seem to have crawled under a rock somewhere. i fuckin' looked everywhere, twice...the only thing i can think of is that i left them in the living room and my roomate moved 'em...i'll ask him later. bummer...i was lookin' forward to blasting out my eardrums tonight. instead i blasted my mp3 player and played on my electric with no power. probably for the better since i fucking SUCK now. haha. but it's still fun :) ahh the joy of slicing your fingers on thin rusted guitar strings...

sum 41. i've delved in drop D tuning...damn it makes chord changes quick :) nice to just bomb a song and strum it like it's a fucking drum. can't wait to get some volume on it, that'll be fun. i need to start a fuckin' band already...i'm beginning to think that i go to karaoke so often just to touch a small piece of why i wanna start a band. scream and be heard? voluntarily heard? welcomed? i dunno, for some reason it's attractive to me.

surf sucked today so i left my board home and took my dog. threw him in the water instead :) he made a little girlfriend on the beach, too, haha. this cutie pitbull mix wanted to play with him but i was afraid of letting him off the leash. he's actually pretty good with other dogs so far. as long as they don't bark at him. when they bark at him he just walks away, haha, it's really funny. he's such a softy sometimes. unless it's something small, then he wants to kill it *shrugs*.

i like it.

30 feet high with a chainsaw buttplug

just got back from huntington beach, cali yesterday. lewis (big bro) flew me up for the weekend for my birthday :) fed me. gave me beer. gave me tequila. bought me coffee every morning. the US open of surfing was going on. was a great time, haha. and a good break from the usual grind. the "grind" being the usual 4 or 5 hours of "work" i do a day here at UH. and..."work" oftentimes being watching things heat up, cool down, or dry. research is frickin' tedious sometimes...but i've been through that before.

either way, i surfed everyday. slept a good amount. ate like a pig. and saw all the surfing, bmx'ing, skating, and motor crossing i wanted to. the surf wasn't all that great (choppy) so the surf competition wasn't all that impressive. rob machado won the whole thing which was cool. apparently it's his third time winning it. bmx/skating was kinda cool but there was nobody there who could pull really cool tricks so it was mostly watching people kill themselves in the "soul bowl", haha. i could never do that shit man. they land on their knees way harder than mine could handle.

the motor cross was badass, though! damn, seeing it on tv really does it no justice, those guys fly HIGH. towards the end there were guys doing some wicked tricks. my favorite still is just a huge tailwhip. there was one guy who would whip his tail so hard he'd be facing backwards by the end of it and still bring it back around. crazy.
lewis was teasing me the whole time 'bout how stoked i'd get over it but whatever, he was stoked too (and you know it, heh heh).

all in all, good quality time with the big bro :) rare these days to get good family time with a brother in cali and a sister in new york but somehow we manage.

aaaaaand now i just have to get everything lined up for the start of school *sigh*. i am kinda looking forward to it, though. got some cool classes comin' up that i'm pretty interested in so that's cool. surf's up in the islands so that's REALLY cool. few hours off the plane back here and i was in the water again at wailupe/secrets. decent session. fickle waves but got a few amazing waves...all it takes for me is one memorable wave in a session, and i had a few yesterday even with the fickle waves. and the water was warm like a bathtub. SO nice.

alright that's enough blabbering. more later!
